LAGO 5.15 is available now!

Dear customers,

With LAGO 5.15 we are pleased to provide the third release in the year 2021.
We have been working hard on your behalf in the last three months to extend LAGO functionally in many areas.
In addition to many useful new functions, such as the expansion of the quick search in LAGO Whiteboard, and new planning options in LAGO PIM, we have also increased our development priorities to support your LAGO user communities that continue working from remote locations.
Our web application - LAGO PIM - now offers many extensions that make it possible to work efficiently from any location. We have also increased IT security, making multi-factor authentication easier to configure.

Please plan to join us on September 29 for our LAGO 5.15 release webinar. An invitation will be sent soon with a complete agenda. Paul Kawano is looking forward to present the latest feature in LAGO 5.15.

• LAGO Whiteboard:
  The assignment mode of LAGO Whiteboard has been enhanced to allow a quick search across all existing projects. Previously a user had to select a dedicated source project. With the new possibilities in the search, it is now possible to see all projects an article or element is assigned to.In addition, it is now also possible to edit user fields for raster fields within the page layout mode.
• LAGO PIM:
  New functions for planning projects and their content have been added to LAGO PIM.You will now be able to access component templates and create components from existing elements. The functionality is based on the already existing one from LAGO Whiteboard. However, LAGO PIM offers more detailed settings when creating components.In addition, you can now pickup elements from other projects by using the same search tools that were already present in the assignment mode of LAGO Whiteboard. This means you can either use a quick search or existing search folders when browsing through existing project and element data.Finally, the functionality to update document variants has been added to LAGO PIM to allow copying of a document variant into multiple target variants or synchronizing data among already existing document variants.
• LAGO Admin:
  The maintenance of article types and their hierarchy has received new detailed settings for the display of property types as well as their output using the XML-Export. The existing functionality to add a localized name for a property type is now also possible for the assignment of a property type to an article type. This allows to have different names for a property type for every assignment to an article type.In addition, you can now assign channels to property types or the assignment of a property type to an article type. By adding channel assignments to an XML-Export configuration, only article properties where the channel assignment matches the assignments of the configuration will be exported.Finally, LAGO Admin now allows you to configure a threshold in days, after which a user will automatically be marked as inactive in case it hasn’t logged in during that time. To ensure that users, such as an LFS User, are not automatically locked, you can also define users in LAGO admin to be system users.

LAGO 5.14 is available now!

Dear customers,

It’s hard to believe 3 months have passed so fast. Comosoft has used the time to add more useful functionalities to LAGO. With LAGO 5.14, we provided new innovations that support your workflows even better.

We have once again added impressive functions to LAGO Proof, LAGO PIM, LAGO DAM, LAGO Whiteboard, as well as the much appreciated LAGO Explorer, which will make your advertising material production even faster and, above all, more secure.

For example, you now have the option to set elements to Proof Complete in LAGO Proof. Checked elements receive a "check symbol" in the proof view and can be easily distinguished from "non-checked elements" by a colored marking.
With this feature you can perform your correction process even faster and do not run the risk of overlooking unfinished corrections.
This is just one of the new features coming with LAGO 5.14, so take the time to read our release notes and learn all about our new LAGO 5.14 release.

• Enhancements to LAGO Proof
  LAGO Proof now offers a new way to verify documents via your correction/proofing workflow. This new feature set enables the selection of an element in Proof for the purpose of marking it as “checked” or “not checked” via a new button in the toolbar. A visual indicator is also made available in Proof so that a user can quickly see which elements have been checked or not. If a user attempts to “check” (approve) an element that has unresolved correction marks, a message dialog will communicate to the user that the element cannot be moved to the “checked” status due to unresolved correction marks. All visual indicators in Proof are toggled ON/OFF via a button in the toolbar. All new buttons are configurable in workspaces to tailor the UI to each user.Further additions to LAGO Proof include the ability to: 1. Copy correction marks to one or to multiple elements simultaneously.2. Create correction marks for multiple elements at the same time.3. Display correction mark details as tooltips on the proof canvas. 4. Easily move pages forward and backwards through the LAGO workflow via a new button in the toolbar. 5. Configure presets for correction marks. These presets include pre-defined texts for the correction name and description plus the ability to define whether a correction mark should be global, local, a document correction, or an element correction. 6. Automatically advance a document workflow step in the event that no open correction marks exist. Additionally, LAGO Explorer now offers two new document check runs that can verify whether a document contains open correction marks and whether all elements of that document have been marked as “checked”.

• New functions within Element Layouts
  The core functionality to automatically pre-populate or build InDesign documents within LAGO has been enhanced with two additional features.First, it is now possible to create assets with text captions via element layouts. This requires the text captions to be stored within an asset property and a component template that contains at least one empty image frame plus a frame for the text caption. To support this feature, it is possible to assign the following element layout configuration, “create and arrange for matching assets”, to layout objects.The second new feature enables users to create a component for multiple articles based on placement rule conditions. The placement rules can be based on the article, article property, price, or price property values. The option for evaluation is configurable and set in the element layout configuration. When placement rule conditions are found to be true, a component is created for each distinct article. An example use case for this feature would be an element that has 5 articles assigned and among those 5 articles, 2 different retail prices exist, resulting in two price tags needing to be placed on the document.
• New features in LAGO PIM, LAGO DAM and LAGO Whiteboard
  LAGO PIM has been enhanced with additional features, including the ability to edit prices or change the sorting of article to element assignments.LAGO DAM now supports the ability to define a threshold limit for the number of comma separated search entries for searching with a new entry in the central configuration. If the limit is exceeded, a message will be displayed, and the number of search results will be truncated to the defined maximum. Additionally, we support the ability to put search results directly into a shopping cart via a button.LAGO Whiteboard supports the assignment of “Grids” to working pages while working in Page layout mode.
• History for user account changes in LAGO Admin
  The LAGO history module has been enhanced to support the tracking of user account changes. This includes the user account itself, as well as the assignment of roles, changes to existing user roles, and assignments to workgroups. A new History view in LAGO Admin enables these user account changes to be seen.
• API enhancements
  The LAGO API now offers further data manipulation functionality, such as the asset assignment order of articles and elements, the possibility to logically delete an asset, as well as, assigning assets to articles using property tokens and values.
• LAGO Import enhancement
  In addition, the LAGO standard import can now import external keys for articles, elements, and prices, which enables identifying these objects using the API (version 3).

LAGO 5.12 is available now!

Dear customers,

In the meantime 3 months have passed and Comosoft is pleased to release LAGO version 5.12 with many improvements and new functionalities/features.

With LAGO 5.12, the Flash-based applications have been completely removed and can no longer be activated via the central configuration. We have also implemented many new features in our LAGO Whiteboard module, which enables product and category managers to plan even more effectively and efficiently while having access to review the layout anytime.
These are just a few examples of a number of new enhancements, and we continue to focus on adding additional features in our PIM, DAM, Admin and Proof modules.

• General
  As of LAGO 5.12, all Flash-based applications are no longer available
  and have been completely removed. It is also no longer possible to
  activate them via workspaces or via central configuration.
• LAGO Whiteboard
  The "Apply Page Layout" function has been intelligently optimized
  and is now even more accurate in determining whether an element
  layout should be applied or not. In the past, only a check for the
  presence of components was performed. This has been extended to
  include additional checks that determine whether an element has
  been moved to a new raster field of a different size or page layout,
  and whether the raster field has been resized by a user.
  Additionally, it is now possible to automatically apply the page
  layout when closing a page (if necessary) due to user changes.
  The function for automatically selecting suitable element layouts
  based on raster field sizes has been extended to also allow for the
  use of element layout categories. This allows for a working method
  where multiple element layouts of different types are available for a
  given raster field size. When resizing the raster field, the system
  now compares which category the current element layout has and
  then assigns a matching element layout of the same category and
  size.
  Element layouts settings have been enhanced by allowing existing
  and placed assets to be used when reapplying an element layout via
  template setting. This setting prevents having user selections and
  additional assets from being placed when decisions have already
  been made regarding which asset to use from the previous selection
  process.
• PIM
  LAGO PIM has been enhanced with a variety of features:
  • Changes to the sorting of article asset assignments
  • Zoom function for the preview list of documents
  • Display of assigned elements of a document
  • Easier maintenance of proxy equivalence variants
  • Update logos of a project
• Proof
  It is now possible to change the names of correction mark
  types and to define default values for the "Title" and
  "Description" fields for each type.
• DAM
  In DAM, it is now possible to add all assets of the light table to
  the shopping cart without selecting the assets beforehand.
• Admin
  A function has been added to LAGO Scripting to check for the
  presence of a value in a menu.
  Additional functions are now available in LAGO Admin:
  • Configuration of transfer tasks
  • Configuration of translation imports
  • Configuration of structure definition imports
  • Configuration of offline document imports
  • Configuration of asset purchase order imports
  •Sorting the property type assignments for article
  properties
  •Configuration of uniqueness for articles
