LAGO 5.20 is available now!

Dear customers,

The holiday season is upon us and as 2022 comes to an end, we are releasing LAGO version 5.20, our last release for this year. In this version, we have focused on two areas in particular: further improvements in LAGO Whiteboard and the implementation of a new password policy.

Cloud systems are gaining importance worldwide and the benefits of outsourcing data centers are clear. Reduction of IT costs, vertical and horizontal "on demand" scalability, higher IT availability, etc. are all great reasons to rely on cloud solutions like AWS or Microsoft Azure.

However, this also requires a very high level of security awareness on the part of software producers and system provider. In order to meet these security concerns, Comosoft utilizes SSO and Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for an added layer of protection. With LAGO 5.20, we have added a new password policy, with the following criteria:

- Minimum 8 characters long
- Maximum 19 characters long
- At least one number
- At least one capital letter
- At least 1 special character
- The password must not be the same as the username and must not contain it

This new password policy is set as default and can only be disabled in the central configuration upon explicit request. For particularly critical areas such as access to the database, an even stricter policy applies that cannot be disabled.

• New password policy in LAGO
  As of LAGO 5.20, a strengthened password policy is active by default. The policy requires the following for all passwords:
  - Minimum 8 characters long
  - Maximum 19 characters long
  - At least one number
  - At least one uppercase letter
  - At least 1 special character
  - The password must not be the same as the username and must not contain the username
  If a user has set a password that does not comply with the policy, they will be prompted to set a new password that complies with the policy the next time they log in.
  The password policy can be explicitly disabled in the central configuration if desired.
• Automatic matching of adjacent raster fields in LAGO Whiteboard
  When scaling raster fields in LAGO Whiteboard, it is now possible to scale directly adjacent raster fields as well. For this purpose, two new editing modes have been created, which can be activated via a button. In the first mode, only directly adjacent raster fields are scaled when scaling. In the second mode, all raster fields located on the scaling axis are scaled.
• Highlighting and relinking of resolved placeholders
  In LAGO Layout, placeholders can henceforth not only be completely resolved and converted into normal text, but also be converted into normal text, which can then also be re-linked to the original placeholder. If a placeholder is resolved in this way, these special texts can be highlighted in the document, as well as in correction documents, certificates and PDF exports.
• Standard import with multiple key values in one row
  It is now possible to use multiple key values in one line in the standard import. In this way, import files can be processed which, for example, do not contain an extra line with repeating values for each variant of an article, but instead contain the variants in a list in one column of the file. The method also allows assigning an article to several projects in one line, provided that the project names or import keys are contained in a list in one column. In this way, import files can be greatly reduced in size, especially when working with many variants.

LAGO 5.19 is available now!

Dear customers,

Our third feature release of 2022, LAGO 5.19, is available as of today. Since our last release, we’ve added some very useful new features to LAGO: a new option is now available at the document workflow level that enables automatic creation of Archive PDFs for any given checkpoint. Additionally, we’ve made enhancements to our Automat PDF exports than now enable you to hide placeholders from any level (article/element/document/project) and replace with a blank or predefined value.

• Create Archive-PDF using the Workflow
  It is now possible to create automat jobs for the creation of archive PDF by the LAGO Workflow. A new workflow status action is now available that needs to be added to the corresponding workflow status. If all documents of a project reach a status that has the new workflow action configured, the automat jobs for archive PDF will be created. Please note that this feature requires the module “LAGO Archive”
• Description for Shops
  A new field “Description” has been added to shop folders. This field can contain an unlimited amount of text. The content of the field can be added or changed within LAGO PIM, LAGO Explorer and by using the LAGO Standard Import. The XML Export will export the content of the field together with shops.
• Article data within table headers
  Up until now it was only possible to use placeholders of the entities Project, Project Variant and Project Variant Type into the header cells of an object table. Now it is possible to also use placeholders from the entities Article, Article Property, Price, and Price Property. Placeholders will be added as context placeholders and pull the value of the flash article of the corresponding element.
• Replace placeholders within an exported PDF
  From now on you can configure which placeholders should be replaced within exported PDF files. On field level within LAGO Admin, a new flag “Hide field on export” has been added that allows to configure if a field should be hidden. Moreover, automat job settings for a PDF-Export also contain a setting to enable hiding of placeholders. Upon export, placeholders configured will be replaced with the empty placeholder value, configured in the central configuration.

LAGO 5.18 is available now!

Dear customers,

By definition, communication is the exchange of information using a variety of methods and channels, with its catalyst being will and ability. Communication has and always will be, at the center of all commerce. And when it comes to connecting with your customers via marketing channels, LAGO is the tool of choice for you and our growing community of users.

If we assume that your business wants to communicate both internally and to its customers, we have to make sure that it can. Inter-departmental teams and their marketing materials are more diverse than ever–gaps in communication can translate into missed marketing and sales opportunities.

For decades, LAGO has been a bridge between all departments and users, handling communication with ease. From the earliest planning stages, through proofing and output, LAGO automates tasks that make up an efficient marketing workflow.

With LAGO 5.18, we have enhanced existing communication functionalities in LAGO Proof, now offering the ability to add comments to user-created proofs markups. This feature adds another layer to our already robust proofing toolkit.

Additionally, LAGO Layout now enables you to curate digital content in the familiar Adobe InDesign environment. Hyperlinks can be added to any LAGO document and are also preserved during PDF export via the Automat (Adobe InDesign Server). Copying, reuse, as well as use in multi-variant productions are all fully supported.

• Comments for Correction Marks
  It was not possible to add comments to correction marks in LAGO Proof. A correction mark can now have multiple comments from different users. Comments from the creator of the correction mark are highlighted. Created comments are shown with the name of the creator and the date of creation or edit in a new group below the list of correction marks. Comments are also shown in certified documents, though they can not be created or edited.
  The creation and editing of correction marks is also possible within LAGO Layout. Comments are shown in a new section in the already existing correction mark palette.
• Hyperlinks in InDesign Documents
  LAGO Documents are now supporting the usage of InDesign Hyperlinks. Hyperlinks can be added to LAGO components or component templates. Hyperlinks will also remain in exported PDF documents allowing the creation of interactive PDF documents.
• Variant Group Filtering by Project Validity
  The variant tree within LAGO Whiteboard can now filter variant groups by the variant type to variant group validity dates in conjunction with the validity of a project.
• Preview of Automatic Shop and Catchword Assignment Rules
  When creating or editing shop or catchword assignment rules in LAGO Explorer, a new preview function allows the user to identify how many assignments will be created by the new or edited rules prior to applying the change. In addition the user may also choose to apply the rules at a later stage through LAGO MessageBus.
• Support of new QuickTime Formats
  The asset import is now able to support newer version and codecs of the QuickTime format.
