Edit InDesign files directly – without project boundaries
With the new LAGO Layout workflow, you can work directly on InDesign documents stored as assets in LAGO DAM. No projects or document structures are required—simply import, open, and start working. This reduces complexity, saves time, and offers maximum flexibility for your layout processes.
Spanish user interface
LAGO is now available in Spanish, enabling smoother collaboration for international and Spanish-speaking teams.
More efficient work in PIM
The new global element search in LAGO PIM allows you to quickly find, edit, and reuse elements across projects. In addition, manual document compression helps optimize file sizes and improve overall performance.

Workflow for InDesign documents outside of a project context

LAGO Layout now offers the possibility to directly work on InDesign files that are stored as assets within LAGO DAM. This allows to work on InDesign files without having to create a project and document structure beforehand. Users can import InDesign files via the Asset Light Table directly into LAGO DAM. From the Asset Light Table InDesign files can be directly opened within InDesign. The files will be marked as checked out and other users will receive a message that the file is being worked on.
Placing images from the Asset Light Table into these InDesign files is also possible. In addition, they can be part of an Asset Workflow. This allows you to include any additional content that is built within InDesign to be included into the LAGO Workflow.

Spanish UI

¡Hola! The LAGO UI is now available also in Spanish! For the web clients, the UI is shown in Spanish, based on the selected locale within the browser.

Formatting placeholder text with HTML tags

It is possible to use HTML tags within placeholder fields, which are then resulting in formatted text within LAGO Layout. The tags are either imported or manually added to the placeholder field. The following tags are supported:
„<li>“ translated to bullet list item
„<br>“ translated to hard return
„<i>“ translated to an italic font face of the current font (font face name is defined via Central Configuration)
„<b>“ translated to a bold font face of the current font (font face name is defined via Central Configuration)
„	“ is translated to tab

Evaluating and Testing of Placement Rules in LAGO Layout

LAGO Layout now offers the possibility to evaluate and test a Placement Rule of an Element Layout. The evaluation is being done in the context of a currently selected Element within a document. For this the Element Layout dialog needs to be opened, which now shows the script result in an additional column. This can help to faster identify why a Placement Rule may not deliver the desired result for the current Element.

Creation of Articles always with a Price

All areas that allow the creation of an Article within LAGO, will now create them with a Price. Previously this was only the case when manually creating an Article within LAGO Explorer. For consistency, Articles will now also be created with a Price via Standard Import, via API and during manual creation in PIM.

Enhancements to LAGO PIM

In PIM a global element search has been implemented. This feature was already in LAGO Explorer where it is called “Element Lighttable”. With this, the user can find elements in different projects. From here the user may modify those elements or use the result list to copy elements to a project.
LAGO PIM now also offers the possibility to manually compress documents.

Enhancements to LAGO DAM

DAM now offers the possibility to create and assign catchwords to assets.

Enhancements to LAGO Whiteboard

Whiteboard now allows you to move and resize multiple raster fields instead of having to do it one by one.
Whiteboard now offers the possibility to manually perform a component pickup by using component pickup configurations.

Enhancements to LAGO Dashboard

Access to report definition for SQL Dashboard widgets can be restricted via the new user role permission "Configure reports". Only users that have a role with that permission are able to modify the Dashboard report SQL; others will only see the report results."

A strong finish to 2025 and a promising start to 2026. The year 2025 has flown by – full of exciting projects and shared success. As we prepare for the festive season, we’re excited to present the new LAGO Tana Release 6.9!

With LAGO Tana 6.9, we once again focus on innovation, efficiency, and seamless integration. This update delivers powerful new features designed to make your workflows smoother and more transparent than ever.

More Transparency with LAGO History Triggers
You can now configure History Triggers to view completed or deleted automated jobs. This gives you full visibility into your processes and ensures complete traceability across your workflows.

Optimized Color Management with the LAGO Asset Processor
The new LAGO Asset Processor module allows you to centrally define color profiles used when importing assets in the CMYK color space. At the same time, LAGO automatically generates RGB previews – ensuring consistent colors and perfect presentation across all media channels.

New Possibilities with the LAGO API
The LAGO API now supports import and export of InDesign documents, enabling even smoother integration with your creative workflows.

LAGO History

As of LAGO TANA 6.9 it is possible to create history triggers for automat jobs. This allows to also view completed or deleted automat jobs.

Product Data and Asset Management

It is now possible to check in assets in LAGO DAM via a dedicated new icon that can be found below the previews of the respective assets. The already existing icon for the export can be used for the check out. Checked in assets can either replace the old asset or be uploaded as a variant.
The functionality "Split and Merge", that was available in LAGO Explorer, has been added to LAGO PIM.

LAGO Asset Processor

For the Import of Assets with the LAGO Asset Processor it is possible to configure color profiles in the Central Configuration. They will be used when importing CYMK assets and when creating RGB assets for previews and thumbnails:

If no values are specified, USWebCoatedSWOP.icc will be used for CMYK Import and AdobeRGB1998.icc for RGB Export.

LAGO API

There is a new endpoint for the LAGO API making it possible to import InDesign documents to LAGO:

LAGO Admin

The new user right ‘Manage Menu details’ is now available under ‘Administration’. When having this user right assigned, it is possible to create, edit and delete menu values and sub-menus without having the user right 'Administrator'. To create, edit and delete menus, the user still needs to have the user right 'Administrator'.

XML export

Zwei neue optionale Attribute wurden für Shops eingeführt:
ShopTypeName (Typ: xs:string)
UniformInHierarchy (Typ: CMXMLBoolean)
Diese Attribute werden nur geschrieben, wenn sowohl der zentrale Konfigurationseintrag (LAGO - Shop - ShopTypesMenuName) als auch das darin angegebene Menü vorhanden sind. Bei fehlenden Menüelementen wird für den Menütyp eine leere Zeichenfolge geschrieben.
In PIM steht die Möglichkeit zur Verfügung, den XML-Export für einen ausgewählten Shop zu starten.
In PIM is es nun möglich, die Regeln für die automatische Zuweisung von Elementen und Artikeln für einen ausgewählten Shop auszuführen.

Automatenaufträge

Ab sofort kann der Benutzer alle Dokumente eines Projektes in einen Ordner exportieren, die sich einen Ordner mit den mehrfach verwendeten Assets teilen. Die notwendigen Optionen finden sich als Checkboxes "Projekt in ein Ordner" und "Varianten in ein Ordner" in LAGO Admin unter den Automatenauftragseinstellung.
