LAGO TANA 6.3 is available now!

Dear customer,

We are pleased to deliver the new LAGO TANA release, version 6.3, to you today.
In this release, we have implemented important security improvements: we have changed the password policy and modernised parts of the LAGO backend to make sure that we match industry standards as usual. In LAGO TANA 6.3, we exclusively support TLS 1.3 with the current Tomcat version 10.1.x from now on.
We also enhanced our feature set in the area of digital advertising material production even further. For example, it is now possible to create dynamic hyperlinks with the help of tokens in LAGO Layout.
This and much more can be found in our latest LAGO TANA 6.3 version. You can find out more about the new features in the modules LAGO Admin, Layout and Transfer in the release notes.
We look forward to your questions and are of course always available if you want to learn more about LAGO TANA 6.3.

Best regards from Hamburg

Transfer

  • When creating article property types via standard import, it is now possible to define the scope of new article property types in the import configuration. For this, a new drop down menu is available which becomes active if the import configuration is configured to allow article property type creation.
  • When creating article property types via standard import, it is now possible to define the category of new article property types in the import configuration. For this, a new drop down menu is available which becomes active if the import configuration is configured to allow article property type creation.

LAGO Admin

  • The visualization of inherited Localizations, XML Localizations and Alternative Localizations has been changed. Existing values which are inherited from a higher level or from an unassigned article property type will be shown in italic.
  • In LAGO Admin, creation/editing/deleting components placement rule folders and sub-folders is now available. Placement rules are located and created in the default “Rules” folder. It is possible to move (drag and drop) placement rules between different folders.

LAGO Layout

  • In LAGO Layout, it is now possible to create dynamic hyperlinks by using tokens. By that, database values from different entities like articles, elements, variants and projects are used to create hyperlinks in component templates.
  • In LAGO Layout, it is now possible to view placement rule folder structure when assigning placement rule within ‘Modify element layout’ dialog. In the ‘Rules’ tab, clicking on the “+” button below the list box displays a second dialogue “Add placement rule”, in which both the placement rules and the component templates are displayed in their respective hierarchy in a tree view and the user can assign a placement rule to a component template of the corresponding type.

Security

  • There is a change in the password policy in LAGO. The default minimum length of passwords is increased to 10 and two characters cannot be the same in a sequence. The check is case sensitive, so “Aa” would be allowed as part of the password. An adjustment in the Central Configuration is not possible. This also applies to DB passwords.
  • As part of our ongoing Security initiatives, LAGO is now running with Tomcat 10.1.x as the backend and supports and demands (!) industry standard TLS 1.3.

Technical optimization

  • Several field types for script values have been changed to over 2000 characters in the database.
  • Today, all LAGO servlets except LAGO ConfigServer and LAGO Link are getting their property file by loading it from the LAGO ConfigServer. To improve this, all servlet property files were moved from LAGO ConfigServer to a local disk location. This new location needs to be adapted accordingly in the configuration files of the environment for the following servlets: LAGO FS, LAGO WebServices, LAGO, LAGO MessageBus and LAGO Maintenance
