LAGO 5.9 is available now!
Dear customers,
Who would have ever thought the entire world could have so many dramatic changes in the way our businesses have had to adjust in five short months. Changes in the way we communicate with internal and external partners continue to move at warp speed and with higher and higher expectations on results.
While tools for video conferencing have been a common practice for years, it never replaced the importance of seeing people face-to-face in person. This unprecedented pandemic has forced us to adapt ways to collaborate keep our businesses moving forward.
Of course, the topic of our working from any location in the world has presented new challenges for remote workforces to connect to organizations networks, and systems like LAGO must be rock solid protected against any security breach.
At Comosoft, we have addressed critical security improvements in our latest LAGO 5.9 release to ensure your teams can work safely and confidently in any environment. For this reason, LAGO 5.9, which was released today, contains several new security improvements for your IT departments to ensure protection. In addition, our new LAGO API can be deactivated by configuration and SQL statements can also be blocked via the LAGO RemoteDB.
Read more in the LAGO 5.9 Release Notes, and if you have any further questions, we will of course be happy to help you.
Let LAGO 5.9 surprise you and stay healthy.
Greetings from the Comosoft Team
Peter Jozefiak
Managing Director
- Expansion of the “Element Information” Palette in LAGO Layout
The LAGO Layout palette “Element information” has been enhanced to support all element user fields and element properties via configuration. Up until now, this palette was hardcoded to only display the element fields “Info” and “Description”. - Security Improvements
LAGO 5.9, offers a variety of new security improvements:
• The LAGO API can be configured to block unauthorized access to LAGO data.
• LAGO RemoteDB now allows you to block SQL statements that were not issued by LAGO Layout. Please note that activating this option is likely to have a negative impact on performance, since each statement must be hashed accordingly.
• A rate limiting option is available to limit the maximum number of parallel logins for a user.
Please note that some of these improvements require configuration changes in Central Configuration and within configuration files on the LAGO Application Server. Please contact your Comosoft account representative for more details. - Document Compression Enhancement
Document compression has been enhanced with the option of defining which fields lead to the creation of head variants in the cases of data differences. Until now, it was only possible to define whether compression data differences resulted in the creation of head variants or content variants at a global document compression level. LAGO Admin, now provides an additional checkbox at the data field definition level, so in cases where specific price fields are never just black text, you have a more granular way to control what should generate head variants versus what should generate a content variant. - Performance improvement for copying document templates
The process copying of document templates in LAGO Layout no longer takes place locally on the user’s workstation. The copy process has been moved to LAGO WebServices. This results in better performance in scenarios where higher latencies is a variable (for example, when working over a VPN connection). - Enhancements in LAGO PIM
The range of functions in LAGO PIM have been expanded. It is now possible to create shop structures, including the definition of shop rules and the ability to link shops to shops for data synchronization purposes. Furthermore, documents can be paginated and the article list (including properties) can be exported.
